Wild Puck Banter:
The Minnesota Wild are 1st in the Western Conference, so we thought it'd be a good time to look at some first round playoff match ups against possible #8 seeds:(1) Wild v. Red Wings ~ as of today I'd say Wild in 4 games because the Wings are getting older and would be completely tired out by the time the playoffs roll around. This series match up is very unlikely, however, because the Wings probably won't qualify for the post-season.(2) Wild v. St. Louis ~ I'd pick the Wild in a sweep. The Blues don't have the goaltending to match up to the Backstrom-Harding double punch.(3) Wild v. Edmonton ~ Probably the Wild in 4. The Oilers have some talented younger players, but they lack post-season experience.(4) Wild v. Los Angeles ~ Wild in 4. I don't yet trust the Kings on the blue line. Doughty and Jack Johnsen are overrated and overpaid. Give me Spurgeon and Prosser any day.

Yeo steering Wild in right direction
When Chuck Fletcher fired Todd Richards after last season's finale, the speculation immediately began. Certainly, Fletcher would learn from hiring a no-name coach with no NHL experience. The big names guys with a proven record of not winning (why else would they be jobless?) had to be at the top of Fletcher's list, right? Wrong.Fletcher instead turned to another no-name unproven...

I am probably going to date myself, but do you remember the character Schneider (Pat Harrington) from late 70's early 80's CBS sitcom One Day at a Time? Not old enough or you don't remember. Recap: Blues don’t play 60, lose in shootout to Mikko Koivu, Wild
The St Louis Blues lost for the second time in 2 weeks up in Minnesota, both in one goal losses. This time the Blues looked much better but still played another poor second period which may have been their downfall. Usually the second period is their best but tonight was possibly their worst. Still in 12 2nd/3rd periods since the coaching change, the Blues have only allowed...
