Yam Huh/AP CHICAGO – Sixteen years covering this team, and even in the glory years can I rarely recall a game where the Avs kept the opposition crowd as quiet as this one tonight. Quite a feat too, considering 21,807 crammed into the United Center. The Avs simply gave Chicago Blackhawks fans nothing to cheer about tonight. Not one thing. Your Burgundy and Blue have now won nine of 10 games, the last three without Matt Duchene. They face another tough game later tonight in St. Louis, where J.S. Giguere will get the start. (Yes, the Avs are in an official platoon situation right now with the goalies). Semyon Varlamov was excellent tonight, and probably deserved more ink than he got from me. His poke check save of Patrick Sharp led to the sequence of the Avs scoring their second goal, by TJ Galiardi, and was probably the turning point in the game. (Those crickets you continue to hear are from Washington Capitals fans who smugly called the trade of Varly to the Avs a lottery pick steal for
