The Rangers report from practice today that Brandon Dubinsky (shoulder) was on the ice to begin practice but left early and is a game time decision for tomorrow's game in Toronto....if he can't make it through practice you'd have to think he's probably going to miss both games this weekend.Meanwhile, Jeff Woywitka (foot) sat out practice today and will not make the trip. With Dubinsky out, here's what the lines looked like...Wolski-Stepan-GaborikPrust-Richards-CallahanHagelin-Boyle-MitchellAnisimov-Rupp-FedotenkoPer Andrew Gross, John Tortorella said not to read into today's lines as he didn't assign colored jerseys and just told them to form lines for drills....from the tub to the first line for Wolski!!!...not sure I like Prust with Richards and Callahan. Finally, Brad Richards admits that the power play has been awful and John Tortorella says it will bite them if it continues to struggle....already bit you last night Torts.Remember to follow me on Twitte...

Rangers Refuse to Give Sean Avery Up Despite Interest Being Shown Around League

It's been several weeks now since the New York Rangers placed forward Sean Avery on waivers and later assigned him to the Connecticut Whale of the AHL, where he is playing now. Being that it was the second time the Blueshirts had put Sean through this process, many, myself included, felt that they should have put him out of his misery and sent him to another organization within...

Dan Girardi Should be an All-Star

The National Hockey League will be announcing the remaining participants for the 2012 All-Star weekend in Ottawa later today. There are two Rangers that most definitely will be on the list when it comes up, and those are goaltender Henrik Lundqvist and winger Marian Gaborik. Both players have had tremendous seasons at the midway point and are main reasons why their team leads the...

Pregame: Rangers Seek Improvement Against Leafs

The New York Rangers cannot win every game on their schedule, and everyone knows that, but Thursday's 3-0 loss to the Ottawa Senators at Madison Square Garden was unacceptable. By climbing to the top of the standings with repeated winning streaks, the Rangers have set the expectations ultra high for themselves this season. Therefore, losing a game in which they had opportunity...

Lundqvist, Gaborik, Girardi named All-Stars

Not that I ever doubted you guys. In the poll over there————> you figured out way before the NHL did which Rangers should be all-stars. Good job. The NHL today announced that Henrik Lundqvist, Marian Gaborik and Dan Girardi were all selected for the all-star game in Ottawa Jan. 29. They will be joined there by coach John Tortorella. Not a bad showing for the No. 1 team...

Free Sean Avery! But not before he plays on pink ice this weekend in AHL

The New York Rangers' divisive pest Sean Avery continues to toil with the Connecticut Whale of the AHL, despite two NHL teams requesting his services via re-entry waivers according to Larry Brooks of the New York Post. Ah, therein lies the problem: The Rangers would carry about $2 million in dead cap space for the rest of the season if Avery's claimed by another team. The...

Rangers-Maple Leafs Preview

John Tortorella wasn't happy with the New York Rangers' latest effort, and isn't pleased with their struggling power play. The coach may be able to find some solace in his club's success on the road. The Rangers attempt to match their longest road winning streak of the season when they face the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday night. New York (27-10-4) has won 10...

Did Sean Avery Spit On His Minor League Hockey Coach?

Sean Avery, now playing for the Connecticut Whale in the AHL, was a healthy scratch last night for what the Rangers are calling "disciplinary reasons." It remains unclear, however, what required the discipline. The rumor spreading on Twitter is that he was benched for spitting on his coach. More »

How About Six?

That is what the New York Rangers will be looking to do tonight against the hot Ottawa Senators. The Blueshirts have won five in a row and are currently playing a great brand of hockey. The club is getting timely goal scoring, great defense and excellent goaltending from both Henrik Lundqvist and Martin Biron. The team is also showing that they can win hockey games in many different...

Rangers-Canadiens Preview

The New York Rangers supplied more than enough offense to bounce back from their first defeat of the new year. They hope that sort of production continues at Montreal, where goals have been hard to come by for the Rangers in recent years. Having been shut out in their last two road games against the Canadiens and mired in a five-game losing streak at the Bell Centre, the Rangers...

Biron makes 20 saves, Rangers beat Maple Leafs 3-0

New York backup Martin Biron made 20 saves, and the Rangers bounced back from a streak-busting loss to beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-0 on Saturday night.

Better Relief Celebration: Boyle or Dubinsky?

During last night's 3-0 Rangers victory over Toronto, Brian Boyle scored his first goal in 22 games and celebrated by looking to the heavens and giving thanks (video here)...Which was very reminiscent of Brandon Dubinsky's celebration after waiting 15 games to score his first goal of the season (video here)......so the question is, who had the better relief goal celebration...
