The Nashville Predators secured the 500th victory for both the organization and coach Barry Trotz with a 4-1 win over the Central Division rival Detroit Red Wings on Friday.
"I came off and guys who didn't dress were congratulating me," Trotz told the Tennessean. "I think it was pretty cool. It's good for our franchise and it sort of says we arrived a little bit. That's one milestone and hopefully a lot more."
Pekka Rinne turned aside 31 shots and Gabriel Bourque and Francis Bouillon netted second-period tallies for Predators, who secured their seventh playoff berth in eight years earlier in the week.
