Thoughts on Both Teams

The Detroit Red Wings enter this game off a 4-2 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena in a home-and-home match-up. In the Red Wings' last ten games, their record is 3-5-2, but still somehow continue to be in 4th place. The Red Wings continue to get healthy, as Friday night, they should get their starting goalie back in the line-up. Jimmy Howard told reports Thursday that he is healthy enough to return for Friday night's match-up against the Predators. Although, Mike Babcock will have the final decision after Friday's Morning Skate. I believe he will be in the line-up because Jordan Pearce was sent back down to Grand Rapids. Good news for Nashville Predators fans, Darren Helm will be out for the next 3-4 weeks with a sprained knee ligament. Helm will be out Friday, and for at least the first two games in round one of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The Nashville Predators enter this game off a 3-0 shutout win for the St. Louis Blues at Scottrade Center, Tuesday night. The Predators are 5-4-1 in their last ten games. Not only do the Red Wings continue to get healthy, but the Predators are getting healthy as well. Roman Josi and Martin Erat are going to be back in the line-up Friday night. Jordin Tootoo is a game time decision, but I think he will be back in the line-up, unfortunately. If the Predators were to win tonight, Nashville would jump Detroit for 4th in the Western Conference and Barry Trotz will get his 500th career win. Here is the projected starting line-up for the Predators.

LW C RW Sergei Kostitsyn Mike Fisher Martin Erat Alexander Radulov David Legwand Patric Hornvist Andrei Kostitsyn Nick Spaling Matt Halischuk Gabriel Bourque Paul Gaustad Jordin Tootoo

D D Ryan Suter Shea Weber Hal Gill Roman Josi Francis Bouillon Kevin Klein
