Winnipeg captain Andrew Ladd tied the game early in the second period beating Anders Lindback who made 35 saves on the night. Lindback was busy in the second period seeing 16 shots on goal to Nashville’s 3 shots in 20 minutes.

The teams exchanged goals in the third with David Legwand giving the Predators the lead with a power play goal just 7 minutes into the period. Mattias Ekholm assisted on the goal.

Mark Schiefele answered Legwand’s power play goal with one of his own, beating Lindback at 13:07 into the final frame with Ryan Suter in the box for cross checking. The 18 year old had 8 points in 7 exhibition games for the Jets.

With no goal in overtime, O’Reilly scored for Nashville in the shootout, the only skater to find the back of the net.

Blake Geoffrion returned to action. It was his first game played since the blade of a skate cut his arm during the Predators opening pre-season games in Florida. Geoffrion saw a total of 12:43 of ice time.

Between the hours of 1-3 p.m., a Youth Hockey Clinic featuring former Nashville Predator Cliff Ronning will be conducted and is open to the public.

Before the game, the Bridgestone Arena plaza will have a plaza party from 4:30-7 p.m. There will be youth hockey rinks, inflatable activities, games, live music and concessions. Stay for the game at 7 p.m. between the Predators and Hurricanes and get autographs from forward Mike Fisher and defenseman Francis Bouillon along with former Pred Cliff Ronning during the intermissions.
