The Nashville Predators officially bought out the remaining portion of the contract of defenseman Brett Lebda on Thursday.
He was set to make $1.4 million for the upcoming season, and he had one year remaining on his contract.
Lebda collected one goal, three assists and 14 penalty minutes in 41 games last season for the Toronto Maple Leafs. He signed a two-year deal worth $2.9 million with Toronto.
The 29-year-old Lebda was traded to Music City along with minor-leaguer Robert Slaney on Wednesday for forward Matthew Lombardi and defenseman Cody Fransen.
