The Nashville Predators has placed defenseman Brett Lebda on waivers so they can buy out the remaining portion of his contract.
The cost of the move is $933,000.
Lebda collected one goal, three assists and 14 penalty minutes in 41 games last season for the Toronto Maple Leafs. He signed a two-year deal worth $2.9 million with Toronto.
The 29-year-old Lebda was traded to Music City along with minor-leaguer Robert Slaney on Wednesday for forward Matthew Lombardi and defenseman Cody Fransen.
