While the NHL-NHLPA labor dispute trudges onward with no end in sight. The Nashville Predators organization will continue its annual "Community Relations Week."

Normally, all of the Predators' players divide up and make appearances at many of the organizations that benefit from the efforts of the Predators Foundation. This year, Nashville Predators staff members, broadcasters, coaches and personalities will be filling in for the players all over town.

COMMUNITY RELATIONS WEEK SEES NASHVILLE PREDATORS FOCUS ON PHILANTHROPY
-Seventh annual community outreach events feature Preds staffers, broadcasters, coaches and personalities volunteering in Middle Tennessee throughout the week-

Nashville, Tenn. (October 8, 2012) – This week, the Nashville Predators host their seventh annual Community Relations Week, a week of volunteerism and philanthropic contributions that sees members of the Nashville Predators family donate time to charitable organizations in Middle Tennessee.

Nashville Predators staff members, broadcasters, coaches and personalities will spend time with organizations such as Hands on Nashville, Room In the Inn, Ronald McDonald House and the Nashville Humane Association. A full schedule of events is listed below.

Monday, Oct. 8
3:30-5 p.m. – Hands on Nashville Urban Farm (361 Wimpole Dr., Nashville)
Preds Staffers will help install and maintain HON’s new urban farm by digging, planting, watering and weeding existing rows.

Tuesday, Oct. 9
1-3 p.m. – Room In the Inn (705 Drexel St., Nashville)
Assist with a variety of tasks to be explained on Tuesday; this charity received a $25,000 donation through an NHL Foundation Player Award.

5:30-7:30 p.m. – American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge (2008 Charlotte Avenue, Nashville)
Volunteers will be serving dinner to cancer patients (and their families). Some patients are local, but many are from out-of-state (and even across the country). After serving dinner, employees will also have the opportunity to meet and fellowship with these patients.

Wednesday, Oct. 10
9-10 a.m. - Lighthouse Christian School (5100 Blue Hole Rd., Antioch)
Staffers will read books to preschool kids. Hockey Operations Advisor Brent Peterson and President/COO Sean Henry are scheduled to attend.

9:30 a.m.-12 p.m. – The Contributor Release
(Downtown Presbyterian Church, 154 Fifth Ave., Nashville)
Volunteers will assist with unloading the paper bundles from the truck, stacking the papers in the storage areas inside the church, setting up for release in sanctuary, invoicing during release, distributing papers, working front door, guiding/directing to restrooms, collecting trash afterwards, and breakdown of set-up after release.

2-3 p.m. – Lakeshore Heartland Retirement Home (3025 Fernbrook, Ln., Nashville)
Volunteers will socialize with residents who are huge hockey fans. Assistant Coach Lane Lambert scheduled to attend.

Thursday Oct. 11
9:30 a.m.-12 p.m. – Ronald McDonald House (2144 Fairfax Ave., Nashville)
Volunteers will plan and prepare lunch for families at Ronald McDonald House. Head Coach Barry Trotz scheduled to attend.

2:30-5 p.m. – Nashville Humane Association (213 Oceola Ave., Nashville)
Volunteers will walk dogs and/or socialize cats. Associate Coach Peter Horachek and CEO Jeff Cogen scheduled to attend.

Friday, Oct. 12
9 a.m.-12 p.m. – Nashville Zoo - Ghouls at Grassmere (3777 Nolensville Pk., Nashville)
Volunteers will help set up for the Nashville Zoo’s Halloween festival.

3-5 p.m. Preds GOAL Program – check-in (A-Game,215 Gothic Court, Franklin)
Get Out And Learn! (G.O.A.L!), a free beginner hockey program designed for boys and girls ages 5 to 8 with no prior experience. This free program includes all equipment, making the program ideal for any child to get started. Head Coach Barry Trotz scheduled to attend.

5-7 p.m. – Preds GOAL Program – on-ice (A-Game,215 Gothic Court, Franklin)
Get Out And Learn! (G.O.A.L!), a free beginner hockey program designed for boys and girls ages 5 to 8 with no prior experience. This free program includes all equipment, making the program ideal for any child to get started.
