The Nashville Predators' prospects have left Coral Springs, Florida with a somewhat-successful tournament against other prospects from the Boston Bruins, Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning, finishing 1-1-1. However, in two of the three games the Predators played, they did not play to their identity of hard nosed, gritty hockey. In those two games, they allowed eleven goals and scored twelve. To start off the weekend, Nashville faced the Florida Panthers and won the game 8-4 thanks to goals from Miikka Salomaki, Josh Shalla, Filip Forsberg, Michael Moffat, Patrick Cehlin, Vinny Saponari, Tommy Veilleux and Zach Budish, respectively. In net for near thirty minutes was Magnus Hellberg who stopped nine of eleven shots, while Marek Mazanec made thirty of fifteen saves. Full scoresheet here. The lines for the game, according to George Richards of the Miami Herald, were as follows: Brendan Leipsic-Austin Watson-Filip Forsberg Josh Shalla-Colton Sissons-Patrick Cehlin Vinny Saponari-Miikka Salomaki-Zach Budish Tommy Veilleux-Felix Girard-Joonas Rask Seth Jones-Anthony Bitetto Mike Moffat-Kayle Doetzel Mikko Vainonen-Charles-Oliver Roussel Magnus Hellberg Marek Mazanec I can neither confirm nor deny these were the lines for the remainder of the tournament.  Following the game, Bitetto tweeted out... Awesome win for the boys! That D Chem with @seth_jones3 only going to get better. Good start to the weekend. Back at it in the morning. — Anthony Bitetto (@ABitetto7) September 7, 2013 It is likely Bitetto and Jones are paired with each other at least once this preseason. The next game was played against the rookies of Tampa Bay. Unfortunately for Nashville, the scoreboard read almost the exact opposite for them Saturday; losing by a score of 7-4. Preds' goals came from Jones, Bitetto (2) and Forsberg. Hellberg was awarded the full game start, but disappointed himself by stopping only twenty-three of thirty shots faced. The special teams was weak being successful only twice of five times on the power play and allowing the Bolts to score on their only man advantage opportunity. Full box score here. To finish off the tournament, the Predators squared off against the Bruins, which finished in a 2-2 shootout tie. Moffat and Girard scored the goals for Nashville against Malcolm Subban, Boston goalie prospect and brother of Montreal Canadiens defenseman PK Subban. Meanwhile, Mazanec was solid stopping twenty-five of twenty-seven shots on net. Rask was the lone shootout goal scorer, but that proved not to enough through five rounds and the game finished in a draw. Full box score here.
