Coyotes' healthy top line could be difference

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- With exceptional goaltenders suiting up for both the Coyotes and Predators in what's expected to be a defensively oriented Western Conference semifinals, the thought heading into the series was that one team would have to find the difference somewhere else. That hasn't changed after one game, and it appears the Coyotes' now-healthy top line could be...

Shaky Game 1 inspires Coyotes Game 2 win

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The mood in the Coyotes locker room after Friday's Game 1 win over the Predators was more of relief than excitement. They knew their effort was probably deserving of a loss. While they were more than happy to get a win, they weren't happy with how they played and used that as motivation heading into Sunday's Game 2 of the Western Conference Semfinals...

Predators-Coyotes Game 2 Scoring Chances

In a turn of events that I am sure everyone saw coming, the Phoenix Coyotes now have a 2-0 series lead over the Nashville Predators after defeating them 5-3 last night. To win Game 1, the 'Yotes had to rely on goaltender Mike Smith to do most of the work, but that was not the case last night. Preds wake up in third period but Coyotes escape with 1-0 series lead…

The Nashville Predators shook off the rust and completely dominated the Phoenix Coyotes in the final two periods of play. Too bad the Coyotes already had a 3-2 lead. “I thought in the first period — and even the first half of the game — I thought we were a little bit rusty and it showed,” Nashville Head Coach Barry Trotz said. “In the third, we ratcheted it up and I thought...

reasons

REASONS YOU SHOULD ROOT FOR THE COYOTES FOR THE REST OF THE POSTSEASON 1. Ray Whitney Ray Whitney is the kind of guy who plays his balls off. He is also nearing 40 and continues to be an extremely prolific scorer on a team that would never be considered "high octane." He is also kind of adorable. But w/e. If there's any player nearing retirement age who deserves...
