NASHVILLE Having become the first NHL team to advance beyond the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Predators might have to wait and see who their opponent will be in the Western Conference Semifinals. The Predators earned the West's fourth seed and the NHL reseeds after each round. The three other series in the Western Conference all could be over as soon as Sunday. No. 2 seed St. Louis holds a 3-1 lead over No. 7 San Jose and plays Game 5 on Saturday in St. Louis. No. 3 seed Phoenix holds a 3-1 lead over No. 6 Chicago and also plays Saturday at home. No. 8 seed Los Angeles holds a 3-1 lead over top-seeded Vancouver, but does not play until Sunday on the road. If all three hold to form, the Predators would play Phoenix in a series in which the Coyotes would hold home-ice advantage. Nashville finished with seven more points than the Phoenix during the regular season, but the Coyotes have the higher seed by virtue of winning their division, the Pacific.
