Season Records

Nashville Predators 32-17-5

Ottawa Senators 27-22-7

Mike Fisher returns to Ottawa on Thursday night when the Nashville Predators visit the Senators.

“I’m looking forward to it. It’s been a long time and I’ll be seeing lots of family and friends. I’m sure it will be weird but it will be fun,” Fisher said about his homecoming of sorts after the Predators 4-3 shootout loss to Vancouver on Tuesday night at Bridgestone Arena.

Before being traded to the Predators, Fisher was a career-long member of the Senators team, playing 675 regular-season games as well as 75 playoff tilts, including when Ottawa went to the Stanley Cup Finals in 2007. Fisher has 167 goals and 181 assists as an Ottawa Senator. Ottawa selected the center in the second round, 44th overall, of the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.

Fisher was traded to the Predators a year ago on February 10, 2011.

With a 15-10-1 record on the road, Nashville is almost as good away from Bridgestone Arena as they are playing in front of the arena faithful.

In their last 10 games, Nashville and Ottawa have reverse records. The Predators are 7-2-1 while the Senators have a 2-7-1 record, most recently losing to Nashville’s Central Division rival St. Louis Blues. While the Senators will want to get on the right track, the Predators will be looking to bounce back after goaltender Pekka Rinne’s lost in a shootout on Tuesday night after winning the previous 11 games.

Of course, Rinne might not be in goal. With two games against Eastern Conference opponents, look for Anders Lindback to start either Thursday or Saturday afternoon.

The Predators have won three of the last five outings between the two clubs and have won two straight at Scotiabank Place. The win has gone to the visiting team the last four times the Predators and Senators have met.

After the game against the Senators, Nashville heads to Boston to take on the reigning Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins.
