Season Records

San Jose Sharks 3-3-0

Nashville Predators 3-3-1

This week, the Predators face off at Bridgestone Arena three times when the San Jose Sharks, Tampa Bay Lightning and Anaheim Ducks visit Nashville. The Predators are still looking for their first home win of the season and will try to pick it up on Tuesday against a surging Sharks team.

San Jose is coming off back-to-back wins against Eastern Conference opponents, Boston and New Jersey. Nashville wants to build on the momentum gained from beating Calgary by putting an end to the Sharks winning streak.

Despite the two losses to open the home season, there is reason to be optimistic about the upcoming week. Forward Mike Fisher announced on Twitter Monday night that he has been cleared to play. Not only will Fisher help with the offensive side of things, but he is also known as an excellent two-way forward. Fisher is responsible on both sides of the puck. The young Predators squad will benefit from his experienced play.

Fisher has yet to play a game this season and has been recovering from off-season shoulder surgery.

Defenseman Francis Bouillon is also ready to get back into the lineup. Ryan Porth of Smashville24/7 spoke to Bouillon after practice on Monday. The Defenseman told Porth he can’t wait to get in the game, and head coach Barry Trotz confirmed he might make his season debut Tuesday night.

Bouillon suffered a concussion last January and has been out of the lineup ever since.

Another reason to think the Predators should fare well in the coming games is that Nashville is traditionally an exceptionally strong team at home. Last year, the Predators were one of three teams to have less than 10 losses on home ice. The other teams to have such a strong home record were Vancouver and Washington. In fact, since the start of the 2005-06 season, the Predators have recorded a 155-67-25 record at Bridgestone Arena, which is the fourth-most home wins in the League (155) behind Detroit (161), San Jose (157), and New Jersey (156).

While Bouillon being ready to return to the lineup as well as Fisher being cleared to play are big steps forward for Nashville in putting together a healthy roster, Martin Erat remains out of the lineup with an upper body injury. Cal O’Reilly is questionable for Tuesday according to TSN with a groin injury.

Game time is just after 7 pm CT. Tickets are still available for purchase.
