Chris Pronger was the big offseason addition for the Philadelphia Flyers, but their Stanley Cup chances may hinge more on the play of a less-celebrated acquisition. New Flyers goalie Ray Emery has returned to the NHL from Russia and will be counted on to guide the Flyers. The former Ottawa goalie spent a few minutes talking with Sporting News' Craig Custance.
Q: I imagine it's always a little challenging starting a camp with a new team. How is it going so far for you?
A: It's been good. I've been here for a couple months, kind of eased my way into things. I met a majority of the guys before camp started. That makes it a lot easier. Yeah, it's different. I don't know all of the faces; it's kind of a good thing. Especially when you have something to prove, it helps you work a bit harder.
Q: With something to prove, would you say there's a lot of extra motivation for you to succeed this season?
