The two newest Sharks won’t be making their debuts with the team on Friday at home vs. the Flames. Acquired in a pair of deals on Wednesday before the league’s trade deadline, Raffi Torres and Scott Hannan won’t be in the lineup because of health reasons. Hannan, as we previously mentioned, has been out since March 17 with an upper body injury and will need to miss more time before making his first appearance in a Sharks jersey since 2007. Torres, meantime, was sick with an unnamed illness on Thursday. He’s feeling better a day later but will still be held out of Friday’s contest. So, Sharks fans will have to wait at least one more game to awkwardly cheer on the controversial winger. The Sharks’ next game is Sunday at the Tank against the Stars. [via Merc]

The NHL fined Vlasic $8,378.38 for the infraction at the end of Wednesday's 4-2 victory over the Wild. Vlasic and Heatley were jostling in the closing seconds of the game. After Vlasic delivered a cross check, Heatley responded by swinging his stick at Vlasic. He missed...

Dan Boyle Goes End to End to Score Amazing Goal in Sharks’ Win Over Wild (Video)

Dan Boyle was one of the many names bandied about around the NHL trade deadline. The 3 p.m. deadline came and went Wednesday afternoon, and the veteran defenseman remained with the San Jose Sharks. He made the decision to keep him look smart, at least for now, as he scored one of the most gorgeous goals we’ve seen this year. The blue liner played a part in the Sharks’ 4-2 win...

(Video) End of the Wild and Sharks game

Since when is it now permissible to cross-check your opponent multiple times in the NHL? The refs in this game should be punished the NHL’s head of officials for their performance at the end of this game. After re-watching this video, I am more upset because the NHL officials are supposed to be the best in the world and should be held to a higher standard. This is kind of bush...

Flames-Sharks Preview

The San Jose Sharks have turned their season around with an impressive winning streak. Now they have some reinforcements to help them continue their playoff push. Raffi Torres is expected to make his Sharks debut as San Jose looks to extend its winning streak to seven games Friday night against a Calgary Flames team looking to end the longest road skid in franchise history. San...

Marc-Edouard Vlasic fined for scrap with Dany Heatley

Even though the game was already over, that didn’t stop the Sharks and Wild getting into some extracurricular activities after the final horn sounded following Wednesday’s Sharks win. Because postgame hockey altercations are the best hockey altercations. It was mostly minor stuff, just the usual exchanging of shoves and expletives. But there was one incident between former teammates...

About Last Night…Sharks Score Seventh Straight Win

Stop us if you’ve heard this one before. The San Jose Sharks have won seven games in a row and look poised to be strong contenders for the playoffs. We all said that at the end of January when San Jose was 7-0-0 to open the season. With their 2-1 win over woeful Calgary, the Sharks again have a seven-game winning streak. Joe Pavelski got the game winner in the final two minutes...

Cam Gore: Flames at San Jose pre-game

The Sharks will try to make it seven wins in a row for the second time this season as they host a depleted Calgary Flames team at the Shark Tank. The Sharks began this shortened season with a seven game win streak and caught a number of teams off their mark. San Jose had a number of players who came into the season game ready after playing overseas and in many cases coasted to victories....

Sharks acquire Raffi Torres, Scott Hannan in pair of trades

Turns out Doug Wilson wasn’t done dealing when he traded Ryane Clowe on Tuesday. The Sharks added a pair of players in two separate deals before Wednesday’s NHL trade deadline. First, San Jose received defenseman Scott Hannan from the Predators for a conditional seventh-round pick in this year’s draft. The pick becomes a sixth-rounder if Hannan, who has a grand total of zero...

Stop the Music…. The Marty Party is over.

As the NHL trade deadline expired, it appeared that Preds GM David Poile had chosen to keep the roster almost entirely in tact, only trading D Scott Hannan to the SJ Sharks for a 7th round conditional draft pick in 2013. In the minutes just after the deadline, the NHL Network announced there was a trade involving the Washington Capitals ...

Cam Gore: Sharks a success on deadline day

The Trade deadline has come and gone and as usual the Sharks were busy. After moving out Douglas Murray, Michal Handzus, and Ryane Clowe the Sharks added to their depleted line-up. Within the last hour before the deadline the San Jose acquired former Shark Scott Hannan and Raffi Torres. The Sharks traded away a lot of grit with Murray and Clowe which Torres will help replace....

The Marty Party’s Over; or Forsberg-er in Paradise

Photo Credit: Richard Wolowicz/Getty Images Trade deadline 2013 was a day of shock and jubilation for most Nashville Predators fans. First and foremost, the tumultuous and medicore Scott Hannan era drew to a close.  Hannan was jettisoned off to San Jose, and get this: they gave us a draft pick for him!  Can you believe it? Riding that high alone, social media seemed to be of the...
