Some may know his name, most will not, but Michal Rozsival earned his spot as Random Athlete of the Day. The Czech hockey player began his professional career in the junior leagues in his home country of the Czech Republic followed by a stint on the Swift Current Broncos in the WHL. In 1996, the Penguins took notice and picked Rozsival 105th in the 1996 draft. The defensemen found a role in the NHL with the Penguins and following the lockout in 2004 to 2005, was picked up by the New York Rangers. His best season came in the 2006 to 2007 season, where he scored 10 goals, seven of which were on the power play. Add on 30 assists, and he had peaked in his NHL career, individually at least. Photo Credit: Todd Korol/Reuters After that year, Michal Rozsival started to become extremely unreliable in his own zone. He was moved to the Coyotes for Wojtek Wolski where he struggled to stay in the starting lineup. Somehow, some way, the Blackhawks saw potential in him to become a top six defenseman on their loaded lineup this season. Currently he is riding the coat tails of the Kanes, Sharps, and Keiths of the world all the way to a Stanley Cup Birth. His career stats currently are 64 goals coupled with 272 assists along with a plus minus of plus 76. The ultimate irony would be to have someone meaningful from the Blackhawks, preferably Seabrook or Keith, pass him the Stanley Cup. -Miller
