Rangers center Dominic Moore will be sidelined for seven to 10 days because of a strained oblique muscle sustained early in a win this week over the New York Islanders. Moore logged just over 4 minutes of ice time Tuesday and didn't play in the final two periods of New York's 3-2 win. The 33-year-old Moore, who played in the Rangers' first 11 games this season, sat out Thursday night when New York hosted the Buffalo Sabres. Brandon Mashinter, a healthy scratch in the Rangers' previous three games, replaced Moore in the lineup. Mashinter's only game action this season was a four-minute stint against Philadelphia last week. The Rangers are already missing top forward Rick Nash (concussion) and captain Ryan Callahan (broken thumb). Callahan took park in the team's morning skate Thursday for the first time since he was injured on Oct. 16. He wore a non-contact jersey, but could return in a week to 10 days.

Patience the key for Danny Kristo

Bruce Bennett/Getty Images Given the current lack of offense and the injuries to key players, the Rangers may be very tempted to promote Danny Kristo from the AHL for a short term fix. AP Photo/Frank Franklin II Over the past couple of weeks, there have been rumblings that the Rangers have been one of the more active teams seeking to make a move. Lundqvist, Rangers blank lowly Sabres

This 2-0 victory over the Sabres at the Garden on Thursday night marked a return to order in the Rangers’ universe. First and foremost, Henrik Lundqvist — remember him? — was as close to peak form as he has been all season in recording the 29-save shutout during which he was in complete command, even if against an inferior foe. Though Cam Talbot’s emergence as a reliable...

Kreider poised to fulfill the expectations

It comes with the territory, with the first-round selection in 2009, the breakout performance in the 2012 playoffs, the washout in 2013 playing for a coach who never even tried to hide his lack of belief in the Rangers’ youngest poster boy. Chris Kreider, you see, isn’t just some guy who is trying to make his way in the NHL, isn’t just one of a crowd wearing Blueshirts. The...

Pavel Bure in for the experience of a lifetime

Markus Naslund has an idea what Pavel Bure will experience on Saturday when the Russian Rocket's No. 10 will be raised to the rafters at Rogers Arena, never again to be worn by a Vancouver Canuck player.
