New York Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonagh injured his knee while scoring his first goal in nearly 2 1/2 months on Sunday. McDonagh said after the 3-2 home triumph over the Washington Capitals that he tweaked his knee and that it was a "fluke" incident. With the game tied at 1-1, McDonagh avoided Washington's Troy Brouwer in the left faceoff circle before skating closer to the slot and wiring a shot which handcuffed Michal Neuvirth. The goal was McDonagh's fifth of the season and first since Dec. 1. "I've kind of had this injury in the past. It's just a little tweak," McDonagh told ESPN New York. "I know you guys want to think something seriously happened, but it's OK." McDonagh has 15 assists and a plus-23 rating in his second season.
