Those are words most New York Rangers fans would have never even fathomed to be true, even as recent as last year. But the Rangers find themselves right there in the thick of a crazy rat race to take home the trophy that will assure them home ice advantage throughout the entire playoffs if, of course, they make a deep run.
Hold the phone, though.
As if it weren’t difficult enough to keep pace with the NHL’s current favorite to take home the Presidents’ Trophy, the St. Louis Blues, what was once a comfortable Eastern Conference lead is now turning into a heated battle between the Rangers, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Philadelphia Flyers, all of whom are in the Atlantic Division and all of whom are poised to fight for that title.
Compared to how well the Rangers have played for most of the season, they are currently in a ten game stretch that has seen them go 6-4-0. Not a bad stretch, but one that has raised ...
