CBS Sports ranks the Home-Grown Teams (three lines, two defensive pairs and two goaltenders) of all 30 franchises and puts the Rangers at #12. These lineups don't include undrafted free agents, only drafted players. So what does the Rangers line-up look like...Ryan Callahan-Brandon Dubinsky-Carl HagelinArtem Anisimov-Derek Stepan-Chris KreiderLauri Korpioski-Dominic Moore-Nigel DawesMarc Staal - Michael Del ZottoFedor Tyutin - Marek ZidlickyHenrik Lundqvist - Al Montoya...one thing really lacking with this lineup is a big time offensive star. But in the Rangers defense, when you're always drafting in the middle of the pack it's very hard to find that elite player. Hoping Kreider is the exception....man that Zidlicky for Tomas Kloucek and Mike Dunham deal was awful. Almost as bad as Tyutin for Zherdev....i know this ranking means absolutely nothing, but with players such as Miller, Bourque, Thomas, St. Croix and McIlrath expected to make the club in the next few years, thi...
BEST OF MAXIM
During John Tortorella’s Dog Walk yesterday morning, there was a special Q and A session with the coaching staff. One of the major questions was about the status of defenseman Michael Sauer, to which Torts responded the following:
”I don’t think you’ll see Michael. Michael hasn’t responded that well—I’ll be quite honest—I do not think you’ll see him at the beginning...
In what could be the biggest fail in video game history, EA Sports gives newest Ranger Jeff Halpern #11 in NHL13 which was released yesterday...Reader Adam R. notes that this faux pas is only on the main screen as Halpern's number changes to 12 in game play.Although this pic from d.fresh says differently...Halpern wore #15 for the Capitals last season, but did wear #11 with the...
The #NYR have agreed to terms with free agent defenseman Steve Eminger
— New York Rangers (@thenyrangers) September 10, 2012
Eminger's deal is for one year at $750,000.
The re-signing of Eminger does two things:
1) With head coach John Tortorella stating yesterday that Michael Sauer (concussion) is still a long way from fully recovering to the point where he...
New York Rangers held a Dog Walk charity event at Riverside Park yesterday and head coach John Tortorella held a Q&A session with the fans on hand. One fan asked about Rangers defenseman Michael Sauer and his status. The news was pretty grim (courtesy of Jim Cerny of Blueshirts United)Question: After (Michael) Sauer's concussion, is he doing better and will we see him at...
Rangers GM Glen Sather (fresh off his Caribbean cruise) briefly spoke to a few reporters Sunday afternoon before the Rangers dog walk charity event on the topics of collective bargaining & Del Zotto's contract status as well as Rick Nash & the unsigned crop of free agents around the league. Here are some of the highlights, followed by the clip provided by Blueshirts United...
Last week, Henrik Lundqvist was named "Most Stylish Athlete" during the 2012 Style Awards...To watch at NHL.com, click here.
Almost time to get ready for #Fashionawards. Apparently they picked me for most stylish athlete..Not sure I deserve it, but I'll take it:)

...of course he won, this guy wears a suit...
When it comes to the New York Rangers, a lot has been said about the talented youth they now have both on Broadway and in Connecticut.
One such talented youngster, Derek Stepan, will be entering his third season as an NHLer, and will be looking to continue becoming an even better hockey player than he is now. With 45 (21 goals and 24 assists) and 51 (17 goals and 34 assists)...
Eleven years ago today, our world as we know it changed forever. Our freedom, our very way of life was attacked, and the outcome was the pointless loss of nearly 3,000 lives. One thing humans have the potential to do greatly is not only persevere through adversity, but come together with their fellow man.Today, both Brad Richards and Steve Eminger took a tour of New Yor City, stopping...
Andrew Gross at the Bergen Record reports that Marian Gaborik (shoulder) skated during today's informal practice.Gaborik is still scheduled to return to action in November....let's hope he was wearing a no contact jersey. lol...while this really doesn't mean much, as his timeline remains the same, it's nice to see him out there skating around with the guys.Gross adds...

As the clock ticks on the current CBA, which is set to expire on Saturday, New York Rangers defenseman Michael Del Zotto remains unsigned. The restricted free agent finished out his entry-level contract with the Blueshirts after they drafted him in 2008, but seems to have come to a stalemate with the organization after sitting on an offer given by general...
As we are in the midst of crunch week for the NHL-NHLPA negotations, which now has included cross-border labor concerns, I figured I would get rid of Don Fehr's picture for now with some actually hockey news.
The Rangers re-signed Steve Eminger today to a one-year deal worth $750k, adding a solid depth d-man to the fold. This is what I wrote on June 18 and I think a good part...
Clearly the most important thing you will see all day. Please feel free to make a joke about his glove hand, make this picture a metaphor for Lundqvist playing behind Marek Malik, or debate whether Jonathan Quick is better at picking up dog poop than Lundqvist is. Picture is from NYR fan Kate and was retweeted by our good friend TheBroadwayHat.Follow Me On Twitter: @Herman_NYRBlogEmail...
Free-agent defenseman Steve Eminger re-signed with the New York Rangers on Monday, and the New York Post reported it is a one-year deal worth $750,000. Eminger, 28, played in 42 games last season, collecting two goals and three assists. He played in four of the Rangers' postseason games last season.
Dear The NYR Blog readers and Rangers fans,This is your friend @TheBroadwayHat. I hope you're all familiar with me and my shenanigans on Twitter. I have blown in from Twitter and have landed on TheNYRBlog.About a month and a half ago, Kevin reached out to me and asked quite nicely (probably drunk), if I would contribute to his blog on a regular basis. I gladly agreed. After thinking...
