Oscar Lindberg and Skelleftea AIK continued their dominance over the SEL, defeating Linkopings HC 3-1 and winning the series 4-1. Lindberg was held scoreless in this game, but notched overtime winners in games three and four to set the stage for the series clincher yesterday. Skelleftea will face Lulea HF, the third seeded club heading into the playoffs.

On Wednesday night the Pittsburgh Penguins struggled mightily during their game against the New York Rangers. Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury was clearly frustrated with the lack of help he was getting and when he went to slam his stick against the boards, the stick actually got caught between the boards and the glass. This obviously made him even more upset because he had...

The Rangers dropped a tough one to the Pittsburgh Penguins tonight, 2-1 in a shootout. The play of Marc-Andre Fleury was the only reason this game wasn’t a repeat of Wednesday night. A truly sensational performance. While the loss stings, securing 3 out of a possible 4 points in a home and home with the Pens is more than we could have hoped at the...

Pens fall 6-1 to the Rangers on Wednesday
Sorry for the quick post. I've got to head back to PNC Park this morning to close out the Pirates homestand. Since I missed Wednesday's tilt, I'd like to ask you, the readers, what went wrong.
Feel free to list the top three reasons why the Penguins lost at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night.
RALEIGH, N.C. -- Henrik Lundqvist made a season-high 48 saves, and the New York Rangers gave the Carolina Hurricanes their club-record-tying seventh straight home loss, 4-1 on Saturday night.
Derek Stepan and Ryan Callahan scored 31 seconds apart, and Rick Nash added a goal and an assist during the Rangers' three-goal second period. Brian Boyle added an empty-netter just before...
The Pens and Rangers have played a carbon copy of this game late in the season for what seems like forever now. The game is tight-checking, hard-hitting, and there is bad blood all over the place.
Friday night fit the bill After two mild periods, the third period turned into a little bit of everything. While Henrik and MAF dueled, Douglas Murray killed Brian Boyle...
Mitchell Theoret (OHL Images)
Friday saw the return of playoff hockey for the New York Ranger and New York Islander prospects as all but one prospect saw his team earn a win. It was a night for the home teams as in 11 games combined throughout the Canadian juniors the home team won 10 out of 11 games on the evening.
Somebody forgot to tell Mitchell Theoret (NYI 2011 7th) that...
