Again, the Rangers have recalled goaltender Chad Johnson. Johnson was recalled for Tuesday’s win against the Hurricanes, and served as the backup to Martin Biron, while Henrik Lundqvist was out with the flu. One would have to assume tonight would be the same situation, with Hank out with the flu and Biron starting tonight.

Dubinsky’s biggest problem

No, it isn’t Carl Hagelin although that’s a pretty big issue for Dubinsky right now. Dubinsky is clearly the forgotten man in the Rangers offense right now. No, Brandon Dubinsky’s biggest problem this season is consistency. Anyone that watched the Islanders game will have seen Dubinsky strong on the puck, his line generate plenty of chances and all round, the line  – led...

Anisimov Could Be Out Long Term

Andrew Gross at the Bergen Record reports that there has been no update on Artem Anisimov's injury, but if it's a shoulder injury, which it looked like it was, a long-term absence is certainly a concern....a long term Anisimov injury should pretty much guarantee Kreider signing with the Rangers for the playoffs. Although with the way the secondary scoring has been struggling...

Postgame: Rangers Meet Their Match in Disappointing Loss to Penguins

New York Rangers GM Glen Sather stated earlier in the week that the Pittsburgh Penguins were the best team in the National Hockey League. The general manager's theory was proven true this evening at Madison Square Garden, but unfortunately it came at the expense of his own club. You can take various routes when analyzing this game from the standpoint of the Rangers, but the...

Son of Stumpy the sequel

Christian Thomas (NYR 2010 2nd) already has his New York Ranger contract signed, the season going all the way back to Traverse City has been one of frustration and we can say disappointment. In many ways Thomas might have been better off if his Oshawa Generals failed to make the OHL playoffs because by next Monday Thomas could've signed an ATO and join the CT Whale. Then...

We're Coming for You Cry Baby

Looks like the Rangers are listening (via New York Times)...Brian Boyle..."Look, don't get me wrong. I'm happy for him that he's healthy. But our mentality cannot change and it will not change. When we play against Crosby, we have to play him hard."Carl Hagelin...“It’s always fun to go up against the best player. We just have to make sure all our emotion...

Bickel is Rangers' Biggest Surprise, Hagelin a Close Second

By Bruce Berlet When it comes to feel-good stories in the NHL this season, you’d be hard-pressed to find one better than New York Rangers defenseman Stu Bickel, who began the season playing on Asylum Street in Hartford. Though Bickel will never be confused with elusive Hall of Famers Bobby Orr or Cheshire-bred Brian Leetch, he has proven to be one of the NHL’s all-time steals...

Carolina Hurricanes vs. New York Rangers 3/13/12

The Hurricanes are now winless against both New York teams as they dropped a 4-2 decision to the Rangers last night. The game went about as most would expect considering the Rangers are sitting on top of the Eastern Conference and the Hurricanes are out of the race but are still battling to win games. Despite the score, that's pretty much what this game was like. Carolina managed...
