Larry Brooks at the New York Post reports that it has become more likely that Shane Doan could be wearing a Blueshirt...

"Doan, who understandably wants this to be the last move he makes, is believed to have narrowed his sights on Manhattan, Pittsburgh and Vancouver. It's unclear if Rangers general manager Glen Sather is willing to go four years, but if he does, Doan is more likely than not to become a Blueshirt.

At the same time, albeit unlikely, it isn't impossible Doan could accept three years to come to Broadway for a reunion with coach John Tortorella..."

...if you're sick of Doan rumors raise your hands.

...with Doan spending his entire career in the Phoenix organization it's obvious he's not a player who likes to jump from city to city, so it is very unlikely he'll decide to sign a three year deal.

...however, if he does surprise and is willing to take a shorter deal to come to the Rangers, let's hope Sather holds out the way he did with Nash and can get him down to two-years.

Brooks also raises concerns that the Nash trade as well as losing Brandon Prust has thinned out the Rangers roster and they will now need to rely on younger players (Kreider, Stepan and Hagelin) to lead the way.

...while losing players such as Dubi, AA and Prust will hurt in areas such as the penalty kill, team toughness and in the locker room, I think Sather has adequately addressed those potential holes by adding Halpern, Pyatt and Asham.

...and as far as youngsters leading the way, what's the problem? They all received a ton of experience in their run to the Eastern Conference Finals and will be more than prepared to step up their responsibilities this season.
