I'm going to first apologize for posting this, but I felt it was my obligation to address this non-sense. Bruce Garrioch at the Ottawa Sun reports that Glen Sather is unhappy with the Rangers inconsistencies this season and is looking to shake-up the club by possibly trading Marian Gaborik and adding more grit to the line-up. Garrioch adds that John Tortorella's job is currently safe. ...oh Garrioch, you silly, silly man. Readership must be down at the Ottawa Sun, so why not conjure up a rumor about the Rangers. I know Gaborik has been in Torts' "Chateau Bow Wow" this season, but am I supposed to believe that the Rangers, whose biggest issue is scoring, are looking to move a guy who's scored 40+ goals in two of the last three years to bring in some 'jam'? I know the Rangers need more toughness, but trading Gaborik is not the answer. ...btw, Gaborik has a no trade clause. Clinching that this will never happen. Garrioch also notes ...

Returning Kreider to AHL is not the end of the world

AP Photo/Nick Wass Rangerland was torn yesterday when Chris Kreider was returned to the AHL. On one side, many blamed Torts for not playing the kid enough to allow him to grow. On the other (note: more rational) side, many looked at is as a way for Kreider to get some solid playing time to work on the aspects of his game that need maturation. It’s clear how we feel on the matter...

Nash Needs to Lead Rangers’ Offense

On Thursday night in their 4-1 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning, the New York Rangers fired 42 shots on goal and created offense by not being afraid to go to the net, by not being afraid to put pucks on net and lastly, by following the lead of one of their own players. That player was power forward Rick Nash. Besides getting on the scoresheet with two points on one goal and one...

Losses piling up again for Lightning after loss to Rangers

The Lightning dropped their third straight after losing 4-1 to the New York Rangers on Thursday night. New York outshot Tampa Bay 42-25 for the game but the big story was the 20-3 shot advantage the Rangers had after the first period. However, the Lightning managed to stay in the game after Martin St. Louis scored the Bolts only goal on the night in the first period to make it 2...

Game 20 Preview: Sabres at Rangers

The Sabres made waves recently when they fired Lindy Ruff after 16 seasons as their head coach. Since then they’ve gone 3-2 under Ron Rolston.  Under both coaches, the Sabres system is similar to what we’ve seen from the Flyers under Peter Laviolette, which is essentially two different looks. The first look is the 2-1-2 forecheck, which the Rangers utilize as well. This is...
