Video: Rangers Taking Over New York

Every now and then I find myself browsing YouTube to see the most recent material posted about the New York Rangers for the sole purpose of entertainment. Never do I approach it with the hope that I can find something to share here on the blog, but once in a blue moon there will be a really good montage worth posting here, and the video I found last night definitely qualifies. ...

Henrik Lundqvist, Rangers Show They're at 'Head of the Class' While Beating Bruins Again

Henrik Lundqvist was unreal on Tuesday night. He made all of the saves -- even one with his head -- and none of the Bruins' 42 shots managed to find the back of the net. It was a little bit of a statement from New York that right now, they're the best team in the East and the Bruins will have some work to do before challenging for the crown. NESN Nation's Dan Duquette...

Rangers Inquiring About Rick Nash

With the 2012 NHL Trade Deadline just around the corner, the frequency of rumors that claim the New York Rangers have interest in Columbus Blue Jackets forward Rick Nash has increased on a daily basis. Today, though , is the first time we are seeing a legitimate rumor as Larry Brooks of the New York Post is confirming that the Rangers have called Columbus and inquired about Nash...

Pregame: Rangers Strive For Five Against Struggling Blackhawks

The New York Rangers have stayed relatively consistent through the month of January and the first half of February, but it's been quite a while since they've been able to string together five straight wins. In fact, the last time they accomplished such a feat, the Blueshirts managed to collect five victories in a row stretching from December 30 to January 10. This may...

If one is wondering why Brad Marchand wasn't featured in the Boston Bruins' commemorative Stanley Cup DVD, he provided an answer to Sports Illustrated. Long story short, Marchand admitted that he was too drunk to be interviewed. Three days after the Bruins won their first Stanley Cup in 39 years, the team celebrated at Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut. While each player shared...

Rangers Want to Sign Kreider (Updated)

Update, 12:00 p.m.:Rangers Assistant General Manager Jeff Gordon had this to say about Kreider to Blueshirts United..."He's a very mature kid playing in a great program," Gorton said. "His game is maturing in his own end (of the ice), which speaks to the type player he is. He is very bright; he is very coachable; and we think he fits with what we are doing with...

Video of Brad Marchand's "clip" on Alexei Lemelin

Because the Internet works just that fast. Here's video of the clipping call on Brad Marchand for his hit on Alexei Lemelin at the end of the second period.Stupid move by Marchand? When you're in Shanahan's crosshairs and ******* about your last suspension, it is. Doesn't mean it's a clip, though.NHL Rulebook:44.1 Clipping - Clipping is the act of throwing the...

Richards: Goalie the globe’s best

Henrik Lundqvist is a three-time finalist for the Vezina Trophy as the NHL’s top goalie. There were no questions or prodding necessary coming into this season to determine whether he was elite. As Lundqvist’s spectacular seventh season for the Rangers continues — his latest gem an NHL-leading seventh shutout...

Do You Feel Confident Bruins Have Turned Corner on Midseason Slump?

The Bruins were back in form on Saturday when they beat the Predators in a shootout, a good sign considering their lackluster play the last time out before that against Buffalo. With the way that Milan Lucic and the rest of the team responded to one of their worst games all season, it stands to reason that the Bruins may be about to go on another hot streak. After all, their torrid...

Which Play Deserves to Be Named Bruins Amica Coverage Play of the Week?

On the surface, this week's debate might be an easy one for Bruins fans, but both goals are unique and impressive from a hockey standpoint. Shawn Thornton's nifty feed to Daniel Paille during Saturday's game against the Predators was certainly a lot more pleasant for the B's, as it resulted in a Boston goal and eventually helped the Black and Gold prevail. Artem Anisimov...
