There are wins. Then there are big wins. This game: ******* huge win. Maybe Dan Bylsma flipped out after the first period; maybe he didn't say anything. Whatever he did, it was the right move. The Pens now leave Philly knowing they can beat this Flyers team, and the importance of that can't be put into words.   It took the Penguins about 14 games over two seasons, give or take, to realize that the Flyers are as ordinary as it gets. It wasn't until they reached complete rock bottom that this clicked in. After a first period that saw the Penguins show less composure than Lieutenant Dan, it finally clicked in. And when it did, we saw this Pens team in a whole different light. They put their heads down and just worked. They didn't get annoyed. They just worked. It was eerily similar to Game 6 in '09, minus a fight.   GiWho and the Flyers stay out of the playoff picture for now.   Saturday night in Toronto awaits.   Recap:   ...

Video: Penguins defenseman throws down alley-oop dunk

It’s been a pretty good year for rookie Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Robert Bortuzzo. He scored his first NHL goal back in February, and then there’s this little gem of a video clip. He and some teammates are getting some shoot-around time at an empty Wells-Fargo Arena (home of rival Philadelphia Flyers, and the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers), and then the 6’4″ Bortuzzo throws...

Mike Colligan on Potential Pittsburgh Penguins Trades

As always, Mike Colligan delivers an elite performance on a big topic. From the Hockey Writers: The Penguins will — and do — have interest in Jarome Iginla. What playoff team wouldn’t want Jarome Iginla? Come to think of it, what organization can’t call themselves a possible playoff team at this point? Approximately halfway through the season, the last...

Flyers fan’s shirt behind bench: ‘Sidney Crosby is a whiny little (expletive)‘ (pic)

It is hardly surprising that the rivalry that exists between the Philadelphia Flyers and Pittsburgh Penguins, given the geographical proximity and hailing from the same state (Pennsylvania, for you half-wits out there), is an often heated one, chock-full of animosity and intensity with a healthy dose of vitriolic back-and-forth. The bitter antagonism between the respective fanbases...

‘Sidney Crosby Is A Whiny Little ******** Shirt Guy Watched Sid Drop 3 Points & More Screencaps!

If you’re going to wear a “Sidney Crosby is a whiny little ******** shirt to a Flyers-Penguins game and sit behind the bench, try to pick the game when Sids doesn’t drop three assists on your ass. It’s not a good look. Pens fans beat me up for even posting it on Twitter. It also doesn’t help when the Flyers had a 4-1 lead. Still, it’s good to see Philly fans being assholes...
