Detroit Red Wings defenseman Ian White is expected to return to the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Calgary Flames.
White has been sidelined for four games with a fractured orbital bone suffered in a game against Dallas on Nov. 12.
He scored his third goal in that game to go along with four assists on the season.
Rookie Brendan Smith played well in White's absence and will remain with the Red Wings, who sent left wing Fabian Brunnstrom to Grand Rapids of the American Hockey League to clear a roster slot for White.

We all know what Todd Bertuzzi did many years ago to Steve Moore. Yes it was wrong, and it was one of the most horrific events to ever happen in the game of hockey. Todd Bertuzzi has paid dearly for what he did, and will live with that guilt for the rest of his life.
His one lapse in judgement should not be held against him, he should not be booed like he is almost 8 years...

In the middle of another post, part of which is focusing on the criminal reality that Brendan Smith is going to see a lot less time in Hockeytown because of an outrageously paid E52. Not good.

The Red Wings left Joe Louis Arena in good spirits on Thanksgiving eve, their latest victory the result of a potent power play and a resurgent Russian. The Wings scored three times with the man advantage Wednesday to get by Calgary, 5-3, at Joe Louis Arena. It's the Wings' third straight victory and their 12th in their first 20 games.
