Detroit Red Wings All-Star center Pavel Datsyuk will miss about two weeks following knee surgery Tuesday morning, according to the Wings' official Twitter account. "It was minor arthroscopic surgery, and he should be good to go in a couple of weeks," Wings GM Ken Holland is quoted as saying in the tweet. Datsyuk is fourth in the NHL in assists with 43 and ninth in points with 59. He was also the top vote-getter in six categories in a new NHLPA poll, including "hardest to take the puck away" and "smartest player." The Wings play in Chicago on Tuesday, before returning to Joe Louis Arena for Thursday's game against the Vancouver Canucks. The Wings have won a record 23 straight at home and have the most points in the NHL with 84. They clearly are already thinking about the postseason. Coach Mike Babcock told the media after Tuesday's skate that Datsyuk's injury is an old one that began bothering him again during Sunday's victory over the Sharks. "It's a good thing for him and for us, and he gets freshened up," Babcock said. "This way we have an opportunity to get him going 100 percent before playoff time." Babcock said Henrik Zetterberg, Valtteri Filppula, Darren Helm and Cory Emmerton will man the center positions on the four lines.
