Detroit Red Wings captain Nicklas Lidstrom is a game-time decision for Saturday's game against the Carolina Hurricanes.
The seven-time Norris Trophy winner has been sidelined for 11 contests with a deep ankle bruise, but he did take part in the morning skate.
"They want me to come down and test it out tonight in warmups and then we'll go from there, so we want it to be a game-time decision," the 41-year-old Lidstrom said.
"It slowly has been getting better. I think today is better than yesterday, so that's a good sign it's going in the right direction. They want to make sure I have no soreness going on the ice twice in one day."
