That went well, I'd say. Detroit dominted early and often to win 7-2. Some amazing passes out there tonight and a milestone night for Nyquist.

Jump for the recap:

By default, all of my statements tonight can be followed by "but it was Columbus."

The power play was the best it has looked all year. Great passes by everyone, great looks at the net, some posts and some great plays.

The PK was pretty good, too.

Conklin played well enough. Columbus didn't have many chances, but pre-GR Conklin would have given up 5 tonight, so we're getting somewhere.

As the game went on I was mostly worried about injuries happening as Columbus threw tantrums. As far as I know the Wings avoided the injury bug tonight. We'll keep you posted.

NOHS Three Stars of the Game:

First Star: Hank. Amazing passes tonight and a bunch of points!

Second Star: Bert. 4 assists. He didn't have the best passes tonight, but he made smart plays which is a nice change. I like this type of Bert.

Third Star: Pavel. Great passes tonight and a goal.

Other third star: Homer. Two goals tonight and he didn't even smile.

Other other third star: Nyquist. First goal. And here's proof.

NOHS Favorite Moment of the Game: In a game like this, everything was the best moment. So glad to see this team play the way we all know they can.

Next game is Wednesday against these same BJ's. They'll be trying to get some pride back after a beating like that.

And hey, 21 straight playoff appearances!
