Another game, another two points. I'd say Detroit played a solid 53 minutes in regulation, then dominated the OT. It was just enough. Hopefully that bonus point to Vancouver doesn't come back to haunt us.Jump for an actual recap I gave Ericsson a ton of crap earlier this year for all of his mistakes. I also said that Kindl was the better of the two. Lately, that has switched around completely. Ericsson has been good. Kindl has not. He's been slow, out of position and comes across as not being interested in the game. A couple years ago, I watched him play a game in Houston against the Aeros. The Griffins got blown away and Kindl was on the ice for almost every goal against. At one point, he was casually skating out of his own zone for a line change when the Aeros grabbed the puck and rushed right past him for a 2 on 1 and another goal. He didn't even notice until the Griffins' bench yelled at him to turn around. It was sad. I hope he can get past this little s...

The Red Wings’ goalies are diametrical opposites when it comes to ‘Face Paint’

The Score has posted two videos regarding the Red Wings goaltenders’ masks over the past three weeks, and as it turns out, Ty Conklin is as uninterested in what adorns his mask as Jimmy Howard is particular about the design work Ray Bishop does for him. Here’s the Score’s clip of Ty Conklin shrugging off wearing a “back-up” mask from his last stint in Detroit… And...

Red Wings mid-day mish-mash: questions, trade climatology, co-MVP’s, Happy Hudler and more McCrimmon

The Canucks are practicing right now in Vancouver, and the Red Wings won’t even hit the ice until 3 or 3:30 PM EST, so we’re looking at some very late-afternoon off-day updates, but that’s no excuse for sitting on Wings news till this evening for the sake of comprehensiveness’s sake. Marty, Murray Howe confirm that Mr. Hockey is suffering from dementia

Red Wings legend Gordie Howe is in Vancouver to attend tonight’s Wings-Canucks game and then visit the WHL’s Vancouver Giants on Friday, so I wasn’t necessarily surprised when Sportsnet posted a photo gallery which accompanies their fantastic magazine article about how Mr. Hockey’s getting on just under three years after Mrs. Hockey passed away. It should come as little...
