The picture above clearly shows that the Canadiens had 6 players on the ice when PK Subban scored on a breakaway goal against Tuukka Rask in the 1st period of Tuesday night’s playoff game 3.
Does it look like the refs missed this call? Yes, but so did everyone else in the US and Canada. 2 days later, it’s too late to go back and make the right call. Plus, the extra skater was more the result of an early change behind the play than something that actually changed the outcome of the breakaway.
Still, combined with the no-call on PK Subban dislodging the net two periods later, I can’t help but wonder what game these refs were watching.
