Released via Kevin Wilson at the Nashville Predators today, the Nashville Predators have re-signed forward Colin Wilson to an 3 year/$6mil deal that which will pay Wilson $1.5mil in 2012-2013, $2mil in 2013-2014, and $2.5mil in 2014-2015.

Wilson, 22, has steadily improved each season he’s been with Nashville since being drafted 7th overall in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. Scoring 15 points in 35 games during his first season with the Predators, 34 points in 82 games two seasons ago, and 35 points in 68 games last year, Wilson seems to be finally coming into his own.

His only issue, in my mind, is his attitude. While he’s correctly worked on it over the last year and a half, he still has a little further to go on it. His attitude seemed to land him in Barry Trotz’ proverbial doghouse late last season and it cost him. However, Wilson has skills and he can step it up to another level.

As Wilson grows in age, he can only get better. He was a high first round draft selection and he’s only 22 years old, I believe we’re just starting to see the emergence of Colin Wilson and his new deal will secure that the Predators will be able to take full advantage of it.

We’ll post the press release as soon as we get it!
