Report: Senators still shopping Heatley

Sporting News staff reports With the clock ticking toward the opening of training camp, Sun Media reported Sunday that Ottawa general manager Bryan Murray confirmed via e-mail that he "could have an option" in the continuing efforts to move disgruntled Senators forward Dany Heatley. Recent reports have listed San Jose as a possible destination for the two-time 50-goal scorer, but Sun Media cited sources who say any deal between the Sharks and Senators might have to involve a third team—possibly the Montreal Canadiens—to get the right mix of players on the table. The Senators reportedly don't want forward Jonathan Cheechoo, who has been offered by the Sharks in a package that also would include defenseman Christian Ehrhoff and a first-round pick.
