Found March 30, 2013 on NESN.com:
A familiar face is available to the Bruins (or any NHL team) as the trade deadline nears. The Montreal Canadiens placed 13-year veteran Tomas Kaberle on waivers Saturday according to TSN’s Bob McKenzie. Kaberle had taken on a minimal role for Montreal this season, appearing in just 10 games. It has been a tough season for the former Bruin as he has only posted three total points this season. Kaberle has been a healthy scratch for the Canadiens since his last appearance on March 5. With a few Bruins defensemen getting banged up, there has to be speculation as to whether Peter Chiarelli will take another chance on Kaberle. The Czechoslovakian posted nine points and a plus-six rating for the Bruins during his stint in Boston back in 2011. With many teams in the hunt for defense, Kaberle could land somewhere sooner rather than later. Photo via Facebook/Montreal Canadiens

Canadiens play April Fools' prank on rookie

via NHL.com The Montreal Canadiens held an open Easter Sunday practice for fans and drew a surprising 17,000 fans.  The Canadiens started the show pulling a prank on rookie Nathan Beaulieu, who made his NHL debut Saturday night. Beaulieu was the first one to take the ice and the rest of the Canadiens stopped at the bench and left him to skate a lap around the ice by himself. You...

Habs set for Rangers, waive Kaberle

While preparing for Saturday night's tilt with the New York Rangers, the Canadiens did something many have expected all year, and waived Tomas Kaberle. Kaberle has played little this year, dressing for only 10 games. While he has played admirably, with 3 points and a +4 rating, averaging only 13 minutes a game, Kaberle has been a spare part, as coach Michel Therrien has favoured...

Using The Waiver Option

Bob McKenzie tweeted today that Tomas Kaberle has been put on waivers and then followed up with this tweet... Suspect we'll see more teams do same with waivers in coming days. Put bubble guys on, let em clear, hold onto em, demote only if req'd.

Canadiens 3, Rangers 0

Michael Ryder and Tomas Plekanec scored in the first period and Carey Price made 34 saves and the Montreal Canadiens shut out the New York Rangers 3-0 on Saturday night. Brendan Gallagher also scored while P.K. Subban had three assists for the Canadiens, who swept their three games with New York this season, outscoring the Rangers 9-1. The Canadiens moved three points ahead of...

What Do 17,000 Montreal Fans Do On Easter Sunday?

from Stu Cowan of Hockey Inside/Out, The Canadiens held a 10 a.m. open practice at the Bell Centre on Easter Sunday and attracted more than 17,000 fans to the Bell Centre. Yet more proof that hockey is a religion in Montreal. The Canadiens were coming off a 3-0 victory over the New York Rangers the night before that put them in first place in the Northeast Division and...

Rangers-Canadiens Preview

The Montreal Canadiens jumped back into first place in the Northeast Division by avoiding a third straight loss their last time out. They may have a good chance to get on another roll starting Saturday night when they look to continue their domination of the slumping and offensively challenged New York Rangers. The Canadiens (21-7-5) have been off since Wednesday, when they defeated...

Hurricanes-Canadiens Preview

The Montreal Canadiens are back in control of the Northeast Division, while the Carolina Hurricanes are right back in the race for the Southeast title. Montreal goes for a third straight win and first season sweep of the Carolina franchise Monday night. After grabbing the division lead from Boston - and avoiding a third consecutive loss - with a 6-5 shootout victory over the Bruins...

Revenge on Pacioretty?

Sadly, there have been a number of low points for the Rangers this season, but to me none worse than the last time the Rangers visited their "House of Horrors" in Montreal. They were physically dominated from one end of the ice to the other and inexplicably didn't come to the aid of teammates Ryan McDonagh and Marty Biron after they were run by Montreal players...

Goal breakdown: Rangers still can’t solve Canadiens

This loss is a bit of a difficult one to take. The Rangers played very well int his game. They generated offense, they had a solid powerplay, but they just couldn’t solve Carey Price. Price kept it at 1-0 (on that flukey goal) for a long time before one breakdown made it 2-0. Following that, the Rangers didn’t give up (still generated good chances), but you could tell something...

Game 34 preview: Rangers at Montreal

Photo credit: AP The Rangers are in Montreal tonight to face the Canadiens for the final time this season. Luckily, this will be the last time the Rangers play Montreal, as for some reason they just can’t beat them. They’ve lost both games against the Habs this year, losing by scores of 3-1 and 3-0, with the blanking coming in Montreal. The Rangers haven’t won there in recent...
