Don't even want to write more than a sentence about anything. But read this. [  Ottawa Sun ] Gonchar was Malkin’s mentor during his first few seasons in the NHL. The two have remained close friends and after being named 2011-12 league MVP last spring, Malkin thanked Gonchar for his guidance.   The Senators will have a decision to make on Gonchar. They won’t give him away if there’s an 48-game schedule, but also would already be down one defenceman with Jared Cowen out for this season after having hip surgery. Cowen was counted on to play top-four minutes. Gonchar would pick up some of that ice time, but GM Bryan Murray could decide he wants to get something for Gonchar before he hits the free agent market. YES YES YES YES YES YES. Hockey has to come back first though :(
