NY Rangers Blog:
A week after Brad Richards set straight a struggling Derek Stepan by advising him to not overthink and just play, Steve Zipay at Blue Notes reports that Richards has now begun mentoring Michael Del Zotto on and off the ice..."I think it grew together before I approached both players," John Tortorella said. "I have so much respect for Brad Richards, knowing what it's like to be a pro, that's what he can bring. It doesn't even have to be about hockey."...i've been very impressed with Richards on the ice, but his mentoring of the young guys off the ice may be what ultimately changes my tune about his signing.Remember to follow me on Twitter & Facebook or e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Erik Christensen could be one of the most infuriating New York Rangers skaters of all time. When he wants to be, Christensen is one of the most skilled players on the team. The problem is of course the phrase “when he wants to be.” During his first seven games of the year, Christensen was invisible, and played poorly both with the puck and without the puck. The last four games...

Last summer there was a push amongst many to have Chris
Kreider (2009 1st round pick) turn pro even though he had a subpar season at
Boston College. The idea behind it was
that you get him in the professional ranks with the New York Rangers and let
them take over his development. Part of
the theory for some was that Kreider seemed bored with college hockey and was
… well deserved for MDZ who has been playing his butt off as of late. Getting back on defense and not staying up in the o-zone rush is what catches my eye more lately than ever when it comes to Del Zotto’s game. Now if we can get him to stop passing the puck so [...]
TONIGHT’S GAME: The Rangers will close out their six-game homestand when they face-off against the Winnipeg Jets tonight at Madison Square Garden (7:00 p.m.), in their third game in four days. The Blueshirts currently rank third in the Atlantic Division standings, and sixth in the Eastern Conference, with a record of 6-3-3 (15 pts). The [...]
It’s a good look for him. He scored a beauty of a goal in the first period and also logged over 27 minutes of ice time in the Rangers 5-3 win. Really impressed with MDZ’s effort tonight. Photo Courtesy of Pat Leonard, and the Daily News.
Wojtek Wolski will undergo surgery Tuesday to repair a sports hernia. He's expected to miss four weeks.
Marian Gaborik scored two goals and Martin Biron stopped 23 shots for his first shutout in more than two years as the Rangers defeated the Jets.
JOHN TORTORELLA said last Thursday that Wojtek Wolski had reinjured his groin when he was “accordioned” into the corner boards by an Anaheim player.
Marian Gaborik scored on an odd-man rush and into an empty net in the third period and Derek Stepan had a goal and an assist to help the New York Rangers beat the Winnipeg Jets 3-0 Sunday night. Martin Biron stopped 23 shots for his first shutout in more than two years, improving to 3-0 in his fourth appearance of the season.
They were supposed to be devastated by the loss of Brad Richards and adrift during a change in ownership, but the Dallas Stars have shot up Adrian Dater's weekly Power Rankings.
Before the season began would anyone have guessed that the Dallas Stars would be in first place in the NHL on November 8th? They have a 10-3 record. They are the only team in the league with ten wins. They have a .769 point percentage, which leads the NHL.
Dallas is a team going through bankruptcy. They struggled to meet the salary floor at the beginning of the season...
