On Tuesday night, the Nashville Predators host the Los Angeles Kings at Bridgestone Arena. Los Angeles is the only team the Predators have a winning record against on the road but a losing record at home with a 9-13-3 record.

Kings forward Anze Kopitar speaks about the Predators after morning skate

Los Angeles forward Anze Kopitar leads the Kings in goal (19) and points (55). The Slovenian also has 6 goals and 10 assists against the Predators in 21 career games.

Kopitar says Nashville is a hard working team. “They play the coach’s system really well. They work really hard. They don’t make too many mistakes,” he said.

Kopitar added that Nashville just knows what plays need to be made, and when. “They do the right things, they get pucks in when they have to and they make plays. They are a tough team to play against. We had a loss against them last time but I think we match up really well against them. We have to use that to our advantage,” he said.

Kopitar credits Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne as being instrumental in Nashville’s success. “He is a good goalie, right now probably top three in the League. We have to get a lot of shots on him and get some bodies in front of him and make it uncomfortable for him.”

The Predators have struggled against the Kings at home and last season Los Angeles beat Nashville three of four games, but Kopitar says the outcome of those games are not indicative of the close contests between the two clubs. “All of the games have been pretty close games except once when we scored 6 or 7 goals. Every game since I have been here has been pretty tight. They have a good team and they made some moves at the deadline too, so I am sure this will be a good game.”

Nashville’s record against Los Angeles this season is 1-1-0. After Tuesday night’s contest, the two teams meet once more during the regular season at Staples Center on March 17th.
