The last time these two teams met, one was going through some struggles and the other was on top of the world. The Nashville Predators took a surprising 2-1 shootout victory from the San Jose Sharks on February 2, giving the Sharks their first loss of the season. (Photo by: John Russel/Getty Images) A late third period fan fight is exactly what the Preds needed to get some momentum and send the team to overtime with some extra motivation and crowd support. Wilson's OT goal lifts Predators past Sharks

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The Nashville Predators are sure lucky to have Pekka Rinne. Without their star goaltender, the Predators would have never even gotten to overtime against San Jose. Preds face a 'tough' week at home

If the Nashville Predators were hoping to use Sundays matchup with Central Division rival Chicago as a sort of measuring stick, its time to throw that idea out the window. A “despised” first period produces a brand new Predators team as Nashville wins 1-0 over San Jose

Photo Credit: AP Photo/Mark Humphrey Sometimes it takes some paint-peeling and table throwing from a coach during the intermission to light a fire under his players. While no paint was peeled and no tables were thrown, the message sent by Trotz was very clear and very simple after the first period: garbage hockey. After a three-shot first period, Nashville fired 21 shots collectively...
