Paul MacLean is sticking with the hot hand. Backup goalie Robin Lehner will make his second straight start against the New Jersey Devils at the Prudential Center as the Senators try to string together a couple of victories in a row. Coming 30-save performance in a 3-2 victory over the Blues Monday, the Senators' coach doesn't feel a need to make a change because of Lehner's solid effort which means Craig Anderson will have to wait. That being said, MacLean won't determine who will start against the Florida Panthers Thursday at home until after this game. "We always go game-by-game no matter what," said MacLean. "After the game, we'll make a determination for Thursday." The victory was Lehner's first in five starts. He hadn't won since Nov. 23 against the Detroit Red Wings and felt good about the fact the club was able to win. "We've got to replicate that effort. It was a much-needed win," said Lehner. "We played very efficient, we played very simple. "That's what a lot of the good teams do, they don't force much, they just keep grinding. We just had to wait for an opening and just be confident enough that when we get chances we're able to score." MacLean said Lehner made the key saves, especially the two-pad stack on Alex Steen in the second. "I just thought he was an NHL goalie," said MacLean. "He was calm in the net and made the one big two pad stack that made (Rick Wamsley) go back in time, which was classic goaltending, maybe not millenium goaltending, I just thought he was a goalie. He was solid in the net." Now Lehner gets the chance to stay.
