Buddy Robinson scored for the second straight night, and the Ottawa Senators earned a 4-2 preseason victory over the Calgary Flames on Monday.
Enthusiastic fans in Saskatoon were decked out in the jerseys of their favorite stars such as like former Flames captain Jarome Iginla and Senators forward Jason Spezza, but the game featured young players trying to make the teams instead.
Cory Conacher added a second-period goal for Ottawa with assists by Stephane Da Costa and David Dziurzynski.
Four fights broke out in the second period.
David Jones scored an unassisted goal in the third for Calgary, and Corban Knight tied it 2-2 late in the period. But Ottawa answered with goals by Mike Hoffman and Clarke MacArthur to put the game away.
Reto Berra made 31 saves for Calgary, which is looking for a goalie after longtime starter Miikka Kiprusoff retired.

Going into the first pre-season game of the year, Ottawa Senators' fans had a few questions. Two of the most pressing questions are whether or not Erik Karlsson will be able to fully recover from having his Achilles' tendon partially severed by the skate blade of Matt Cooke and return to Norris Trophy form. Another was whether the newly acquired Bobby Ryan would be able to...

Look at Randy Lee!
Compared to previous photographs that capture either Tim Murray or Bryan Murray inking a prospect or player, Randy Lee will actually crack a smile.
He can smile for good reason too. Not only Charles James Robinson III is producing at a ridiculously sustainable rate through the team's first two exhibition games...
The Senators' big producers started the pre-season with a bang as did one of their big prospects.
New sniper Bobby Ryan Milan Michalek and 6-foot-5 235-pound rookie Buddy Robinson scored the Ottawa goals in a 3-1 win over the Jets at a jam-packed but mostly quiet MTS Centre Sunday night.
Erik Karlsson showed Norris Trophy form and added two assists while Michalek also had a...
All things being equal the Senators will have to give the vacant second line winger job to Mike Hoffman.
He’s the only one of those currently battling for the spot who would need to clear waivers if they tried to send him to Binghamton. After all they’ve invested in Hoffman — as well as the offensive potential and speed he has — the Senators would be wrong to risk losing...
