Ryan Poehling Scores but Flyers Lose to Islanders
Russell LaBounty-USA TODAY Sports

Ryan Poehling scored the Philadelphia Flyers’ first goal of the preseason in a 2-1 loss to the New York Islanders on Wednesday night.

The Poehling goal is the Flyers’ only score through two preseason games.

Poehling scored at 17:38 of the third period with assists from Noah Cates and Scott Laughton. The Flyers had pulled the goaltender to get an extra skater on the ice and capitalized.

The Islanders’ first goal was scored by Julien Gauthier on the power play. New York was 1-for-4 on the power play. The Flyers were 0-for-3 on the power play.
