The Buffalo Sabres are doing everything in their power to become an elite team in the National Hockey League. One of those things includes the decision to name veteran forward Jason Pominville team captain.Pominville has spent six seasons as a member of the Buffalo Sabres and is well respected in the locker room. It took Buffalo Sabres management quite a while to make a decision on the captaincy; Pominville is the first person to wear the 'C' since Craig Rivet was put on waivers last February.I'm expecting huge things out of the Buffalo Sabres in the 2011-12 seasons, the first full year for billionaire owner Terrence M. Pegula. Judging by the off-season Pegula is not afraid to spend the money to make his team elite. Naming Jason Pominville Captain is just another piece of great news for Sabres' Nation as the season gets underway. Paul Gaustad, Derek Roy, Thomas Vanek and Drew Stafford will alternate as assistant captains.
