The Buffalo Sabres recalled defenseman Joe Finley from Rochester of the AHL on Tuesday.
Finley will take the place of blue liner Jordan Leopold, who will miss his third straight game with an upper body injury.
Finley was sent down to Rochester earlier this week after appearing in his first two NHL games.
He has a goal and an assist and a team-high 57 penalty minutes through 18 AHL games this season.Buffalo faces Philadelphia on Wednesday to open a five-game homestand.
