Video: Sabres On Team Bus In Germany

When we hear retired athletes talk about how they miss “being with the guys”, it’s moments like this that may help us on the outside understand a little more. The Sabres are in Germany, and Jason Pominville narrated a video of the team laughing it up on the team bus.  The player who apparently had an issue with his bags is young forward Luke Adam, who incidentally is battling...

MacIntyre enjoying his NHL experience

Drew MacIntyre is a realist. He's bounced around the minor leagues for eight years, playing for Toledo, Grand Rapids, Manitoba, Milwaukee and Hamilton. Through all that time and all the stops, he's played in an NHL game just twice. So the goaltender knew he wasn't going to join the Buffalo Sabres this season and oust Ryan Miller from the crease. The 28-year-old signed...

Kevin Freiheit: How will Leino fit in?

He will be 28 by the season's start and the new Sabres forward is looking to improve on a breakout season. Leino has played in one full season (the other was 55 games split with Detroit and Philly) and put up 53 points and was one goal shy of 20. He's proven that he will be a factor in postseason play. With already 37 games of playoff experience, Ville Leino has put up...

Sabres Visit Wounded U.S. Soldiers in Germany

From Shawn P. Roarke at NHL.com: There can be no fear of pain for a professional hockey player. It is a product of their profession. Despite an almost unhealthy comfort with the concept, nothing could prepare the Buffalo Sabres for what they encountered during a team visit to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, the United States Army’s major trauma hospital in Europe. Wounded...

IN HIS OWN WORDS: VILLE LEINO

Adam hits first goal on Sabres;Center in the mix on crowded forward lines

Live from Sabres at Mannheim

MANNHEIM, Germany -- Greetings from SAP Arena, the house that Jochen Hecht built. OK, not really, but he was the first Sabre on the ice -- joining Adler Mannheim legend Rene Corbet -- for laps around the rink to start the exhibition festivities. Hecht was also the last player off the ice following warmups, as he handed out pucks to his hometown fans. He also led the raucous crowd...
