Rangers GM Glen Sather (fresh off his Caribbean cruise) briefly spoke to a few reporters Sunday afternoon before the Rangers dog walk charity event on the topics of collective bargaining & Del Zotto's contract status as well as Rick Nash & the unsigned crop of free agents around the league. Here are some of the highlights, followed by the clip provided by Blueshirts United...Re: ongoing CBA negotiationsSather: " I think it'll play itself out, one way or the other." Sather went on to way that he's "always optimistic" but that optimism is based "purely on stupidity."Not exactly earth-shattering news by any stretch. I think he knows in his heart that the NHL is heading for a lockout but there is only so much the executives of the NHL can divulge at the moment.Re: offseason to date/Rick NashSather: "I think its been terrific, its not very often you get an opportunity, to sign somebody or make a deal like Nash."Absolutely stunni...

Brad Richards, Steve Eminger Tour NYC on 9/11

Eleven years ago today, our world as we know it changed forever. Our freedom, our very way of life was attacked, and the outcome was the pointless loss of nearly 3,000 lives. One thing humans have the potential to do greatly is not only persevere through adversity, but come together with their fellow man.Today, both Brad Richards and Steve Eminger took a tour of New Yor City, stopping...

When it comes to the New York Rangers, a lot has been said about the talented youth they now have both on Broadway and in Connecticut. One such talented youngster, Derek Stepan, will be entering his third season as an NHLer, and will be looking to continue becoming an even better hockey player than he is now. With 45 (21 goals and 24 assists) and 51 (17 goals and 34 assists)...

Rangers’ Del Zotto Must Continue to Improve

When you are in the National Hockey League, it is not enough to have just one good season.  This is the kind of attitude that New York Rangers' defenseman Michael Del Zotto must have when the puck drops on the upcoming season, whenever that may be. In fact, for Del Zotto, it is the only way that he will survive under team head coach John Tortorella. When the 22-year-old...

Jan Levine: Rangers Re-Sign Eminger

As we are in the midst of crunch week for the NHL-NHLPA negotations, which now has included cross-border labor concerns, I figured I would get rid of Don Fehr's picture for now with some actually hockey news. The Rangers re-signed Steve Eminger today to a one-year deal worth $750k, adding a solid depth d-man to the fold. This is what I wrote on June 18 and I think a good part...

Here's A Picture Of Henrik Lundqvist Picking Up Dog Poop

Clearly the most important thing you will see all day. Please feel free to make a joke about his glove hand, make this picture a metaphor for Lundqvist playing behind Marek Malik, or debate whether Jonathan Quick is better at picking up dog poop than Lundqvist is.
