Los Angeles Kings begin 4 game road trip in Montreal

The Los Angeles Kings rebounded nicely last week after dropping 2 games in a row, getting wins over the St. Louis Blues, Anaheim Ducks and New York Islanders. The Kings will now ride that 3 game win streak into Montreal in what will be the first game of a four game road trip. The Kings continue to play their brand of hockey, which is defensively sound, turning opponent’s giveaways...

Quick (groin) thinks he’s a few days to week from skating

Los Angeles goaltender Jonathan Quick has missed almost a month with a Grade 2 groin strain and isn’t expected to return anytime soon. The good news is that he’s moving in the right direction. “I’m working out. I haven’t started skating yet, but that’s the next step. Hopefully within the next few days or a week or so I could try to get on the ice and see how it feels...

Jones gets shutout, leads LA Kings past Isles

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Martin Jones made 16 saves to earn his first NHL shutout in his second career start, and Anze Kopitar scored in the Los Angeles Kings' 3-0 victory over the skidding New York Islanders on Saturday night. Dustin Brown also scored and Tyler Toffoli added an empty-net goal for the Kings, who won their third straight and have earned a point in 14 of 15 games...

Jason Lewis: Quick v. Scrivens: Why It's Not Even a Question

As the Kings roll on with victory after victory without Jonathan Quick manning the pipes, the inevitable question arises from the depths of hockey talks. QUICK VS. SCRIVENS (Insert dramatic music and flames here) (.....and this guy) And before we get to ensconced into the intricacies of what truly would be a debate for the ages, let me throw water on the fire....

Kings Martin Jones shuts out Blues in 3-0 win

It was always going to be incredibly difficult for Kings rookie goalie Martin Jones to top his NHL debut, the one straight out of the can-you-believe-it file. So Jones merely did something that he didn't do against Anaheim in the nine-round shootout win last week. In his second NHL start, he recorded his first shutout, defeating the New York Islanders, 3-0, on Saturday night...

Kings-Canadiens Preview

One of the most surprising aspects of the Los Angeles Kings' solid goaltending during their surge is that Jonathan Quick hasn't been in net for any of it. It's hardly a shock Carey Price has been the main catalyst for the Montreal Canadiens' current run. Visiting Los Angeles looks to avoid an eighth straight loss to Montreal while ending the Canadiens' five...

On Saturday, the Kings honored ‘Murph’

Via the boss, former Red Wings defenseman Larry Murphy has been spotted at the Red Wings alumni's "training camp" ahead of the Wings-Leafs Alumni Showdown, and he's still taking part in team functions, so "Murph" may be a little less visible in the public eye, but he's around despite his still-controversial ouster from Fox Sports Detroit last spring...

Jordan Weal Reigns Over Points for Manchester Monarchs

Weal surpassed previous points-leader for the Monarchs.

LA Kings Shutout The New York Islanders 3-0

The LA Kings played in their blue and gold throwback jerseys against the New York Islanders, but played with the same intensity as the Kings have as of late. LA took down a downtrodden Islanders club, 3-0. A sluggish start lead to a rejuvenated second and third period that was too much for the Island folk.   In the first period, the Kings seemed to be playing down to the Islanders...

Los Angeles Kings Vs. Montreal Canadiens: TV Schedule, Betting Odds and Game Preview

The Los Angeles Kings (19-7-4) make their first venture into the most north-west locales of NHL hockey as they roll into Montreal to face the Canadiens (19-9-3) in the first of four away games. Montreal is third in the East with 41 points as LA is fourth in the West with 42 points. The Canadiens ride a five game win streak into this contest versus the Kings who are 6-1-3 in their...
