Looking at the team that just won the Stanley Cup, the Los Angeles Kings, it was easy to see why they won hockey’s Holy Grail. They got great goaltending with Jonathan Quick, got timely goal scoring up and down the lineup and played terrific defense. This is what teams in hockey need to do to win and the Kings did it to a “T”. Looking at the New York Rangers, the team has two of the above mentioned three characteristics it takes to win a Cup. In goal, the Blueshirts have perhaps the best netminder in all of hockey with Henrik Lundqvist between the pipes. The “King” was brilliant this year and whenever he was in net, the Rangers always had a chance to win a hockey game. The Rangers’ defense was also outstanding. They block a lot of shots, they break up a lot of plays, they know when to join the rush and they do a good job of protecting Lundqvist. However, when it comes down to it, the team just did not and does not have the scoring that was needed to win in the postseason. Marian...

Jonathan Quick's Awesome Victory Speech

s/t to Chuck Schwartz for having this gem on his twitter feed. I am not sure that Jonathan Quick will be getting any requests for him to do any public speaking engagements anytime soon but I can understand getting caught up in the moment. Again, congrats to the Kings for winning the Stanley Cup Championship. Related articles (Video) 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs Montage...

Jonathan Quick drops many F-bombs during Stanley Cup rally (Video)

Yesterday, the Los Angeles Kings celebrated their Stanley Cup win with their fans at the Staples Center. Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick was giving a speech during the rally and might have forgotten that the event was being broadcast to television viewers. Watch as Quick drops a series of F-Bombs in under a minute:

Jonathan Quick Drops Three F-Bombs in Celebration at Stanley Cup Parade (Audio)

The Los Angeles Kings were a team united in their epic run to hoisting the Stanley Cup. And it looks like Conn Smythe Trophy winner and Kings goalie Jonathan Quick might be taking a few lessons from his captain Dustin Brown. After the Kings won the cup, Brown was given the microphone by NBC's Pierre McGuire and decided to really affirm his excitement with a nationally-televised...

Video: Jonathan Quick has a potty mouth

Hockey and vulgarity go hand-in-hand, but usually not on a loudspeaker for thousands of fans to hear. Don’t tell that to Jonathan Quick though.

Jonathan Quick On Live TV At Kings’ Stanley Cup Rally: “How About This F*cking Team Right Here”

The last time you saw goalie Jonathan Quick he was trying to wrangle his daughter during the Conn Smythe presser after the Kings clinched their first Stanley Cup. It was a feel good moment. Little daughter. Smiles. Daughter coughing. Yeah, well Quick took the mic today at the team’s rally and had a few things to say to the fans. His first sentence included a solid f-bomb and things...

Drunk Jonathan Quick Is Awesome

It’s no surprise that Jonathan Quick and his teammates have been on a bit of a roll ever since the Kings won the Stanley Cup on Monday night…and by on a roll, I mean consistently inebriated. First it was his drunken speech at the Kings rally, where he dropped a couple of f-bombs on live television and endeared himself to the fans. Then, in another interview, he went on to discuss...

A Vezina Trophy Battle: Lundqvist vs. Quick

There is no doubt that all three goaltenders that were nominated for the Vezina Trophy as the league’s top netminder in the regular season are all deserving of the coveted Trophy. While Nashville Predators’ goaltender Pekka Rinne had a terrific season and deserved to be nominated this season, this trophy will really be between Los Angeles Kings’ Cup winning goaltender Jonathan...

LA Kings' Jonathan Quick beats censors on live TV

One way to rile up a crowd during a typical boilerplate speech is throw in a four-letter word to spice things up.  Los Angeles Kings goalie Jonathan Quick did just that not once but three times with his profane praise of his teammates during a rally celebrating the team's Stanley Cup Championship on Thursday at the packed Staples Center. During a live broadcast on KCAL 9,...

Jonathan Quick dropped 3 F-bombs at Kings championship rally (Video)

I guess cussing runs in the Kings franchise. Three days after captain Dustin Brown dropped an F-bomb in a postgame interview after winning the Stanley Cup, goalie Jonathan Quick triple down on his teammate. The Conn Smythe Trophy winner dropped not one, not two, but three F-bombs while making a speech during the Kings’ Stanley Cup rally on Thursday. “How bout this ****ing...

Kings celebrate with parade, rally

A celebration 45 years in the making ended in a blizzard of silver-and-black confetti when the Los Angeles Kings showed off the Stanley Cup. The Kings rode buses and flatbed trucks in a parade through downtown Los Angeles on Thursday to celebrate their first NHL championship. Captain Dustin Brown and playoff MVP Jonathan Quick finished by raising the Cup above their heads for thousands...

2012 Wild Draft Preview: Goaltenders

If anyone doubted the power of goaltending, all they have to do is watch this year's Stanley Cup Finals.  It hasn't been a battle of big offenses, its been a duel between the pipes between future Hall of Famer Martin Brodeur and rising star Jonathan Quick.  A good goaltender can neutralize even the best offensive teams and can carry a team to a Stanley Cup championship...

Congratulations to the Los Angeles Kings!

Congratulations to the 2011-2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings!  I don’t think anyone really expects to see a team dominate their way through a postseason the way the Kings did…and they did it as an 8th seed.  Kudos to the entire organization, from the top all the way down to the bottom.  They were patient building this team and knew when to make a splash with some...

Bruins Unlikely to Make 'Huge Moves' This Offseason, Focus Instead Should Be on Rounding Out Roster (Podcast)

It's a bittersweet time for any hockey fan. While the start of the NHL offseason means there will be plenty of rumors, signings and potential trades, it also means there will be no hockey action for a few months. The Los Angeles Kings finished off the New Jersey Devils in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup on Monday, meaning they'll be the ones with the targets on their backs next...
