Sean Avery Wouldn't Fight Your Sister

Posted October 26, 2008 on tshilton's Blog:
Happened to see this Coach's Corner watching the Senators vs Leafs last night, Don Cherry exposes Sean Avery, supposed tough guy and tough talker for not backing up his tough talk with action. Several clips show Avery, willing and trying to get fights with Brandon Dubinsky, while avoiding Orr. Just an absolute Joke... Avery is quick to criticize, but slow to back up his words On another note several NHLers have told me, that Sean makes it priority to know every ones personal business and take trash talk to a whole new level, bringing up deaths in the family, a family members handicap, and divorce among other things. You may act tough Sean but in the end it's just an act, you are a slightly better than average hockey player and a master marketer; that's it!

  • Great observation man. Sean Avery is a joke! With Avery gone and both Christian Backman and Ryan Hollweg traded, the Rangers got rid of their garbage and have an honest shot at the Stanley Cup.
  • Thanks I remeber Avery in the playoffs in front of Brodeur with what became the Avery rule after seeing this clip I rewatched that one, and noticed that twice Chris Drury went in to push his teammate Avery, did everything but knock the guy down in the crease. When your own team mates have that opinion of your antics, especially a class act like Drury; it should tell you something.
  • Avery was the same way, when he played in the OHL. He would run from the heavys and then fight guys not knowen for fighting. There was one game in Plymouth when he tried this and he got pounded buy a kid who never fights. Avery all talk no bite
  • you wouldn't happen to remember that kids name? I'd like to try and find that clip, Avery ducks the big guys, I'd like to see what happens if another team takes liberties with the Stars what Avery does, normally a tough guy drops the gloves with the player who took the shot to send a message, does Avery? I think not
  • Mate of fact i do his name is Rob Mcbride played for the Plymouth Whalers of the ohl he played in 112 games and only had 50 pims.
